About Us
We are a team of scientists working on developing diagnostic tools for agricultural use. One of those tools is Microbe Finder, which uses high-throughput sequencing (HTS) too simultaneously detect plant pathogens within minutes. HTS produces billions of sequences, which theoretically will permit to retrieve information from various pathogens at the same time by using one sequencing run. Therefore, using HTS it is possible to sequence a potentially infected crop and analyze the sequencing output using bioinformatic tools like Microbe Finder (MiFi).
HTS for plant diagnostics
HTS diagnostics require validation at various tiers. Starting at the sampling method until reaching the bioinformatic analysis. We help scientists validate the various steps required in HTS plant diagnostics to achieve a confident diagnosis. The use of MiFi or any bioinformatic pipeline requires that the pathogen is found in the HTS data at a minimum "read number".
